- the historian and Member of Parliament, later Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Sardinia, Cesare Balbo (1789–1853); the philosopher and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Sardinia, Vincenzo Gioberti (1801–1852); and Senator Massimo d’Azeglio (1798–1866).
