About this artist, the Musée de la nacre et de la tabletterie (Méru, France) writes:
This jeweler, a contemporary of Élisabeth Bonté, with whom he worked until 1936, specialized in the creation of carved horn jewelry in the early 20th century. Inspired by nature, their work was part of the Art Nouveau movement, combining noble and non-precious materials to revolutionize costume jewelry. [...] The treatment of engraved horn gives a pearly effect: it has probably been soaked in hydrogen peroxide (hydrogen peroxide) to add shine to the translucent material.
