The Cornely machine is a single-needle hook-shaped machine that can embroider both chain and satin stitches and combine up to 14 different thread colors. It can also apply cords, ribbons, wool threads, and more. Developed by Frenchman Antoine Bonnaz in the 1860s, it was perfected by Ercole Cornely in his Paris factory. Winners at the Paris Universal Expositions of 1889 and 1900, these machines revolutionized the embroidery industry.
