Invitation to dance, fan by Leroy ? late 19th century
Grey mother-of-pearl fan, the skin leaf painted with scenes from a guinguette. In the center, a gentleman is trying to invite a woman chaperoned by her mother to dance, on the left, a group of seated drinkers, and on the right, a young woman reluctantly walks away with her grandmother.
