Fan, the paper leaf painted with a Turkish scene: in the garden of an Ottoman palace, the sultan and sultana are enjoying a snack. All the elements are reminiscent of the Orient: Turkish clothing and hairstyles, the small coffee pot, the peacock, the little black servants, the sculpture inspired by the sphinx, the man smoking a chibouk (long Ottoman tobacco pipe)...
Sticks are mother-of-pearl, pierced, engraved and applied with gold and silver leaf. The guards are of a different design and made of a different material.
