Fan, the painted paper leaf of young David, still a simple shepherd, playing the harp to soothe the troubled mind of the first king of the Hebrews, Saul. His daughter Michal, David's future wife, is also listening, as is the prophet Samuel in the background.
On the reverse, Samuel anoints David as king.
