The weight of love, system fan, 18th & 19th century

Fan, the skin leaf of the XIXth century is painted of a Venus weighing the putti

Sticks and guards around 1780 are pierced, engraved and applied with gold and silver leafs. The top of the guards has medallions under glass, a system of pull to move the mechanisms: on one side a woman is unmasked and an angel descends from heaven to crown her with flowers, on the other a knight kneels (scene inspired by the comedy played in Paris in 1774, "The hunting party of Henry IV", it is Sully who throws himself at the feet of the king)

Good general condition (paint a little chipped in places, stains on the reverse, Sully's mechanism partially blocked: only the bust of the knight is tilted very slightly)

With a collection number 2330

Size : 27 cm
