Balloon-shaped fan, the black gauze leaf is painted with the flower market on the Place de la Madeleine (Paris, France) : two very Parisian cats are courted by suitably dressed-up gallants under the amused eyes of the flower sellers, while the wife of one of the courtiers is stunned and readdy for scandal.
Tortoiseshell stickes, inlaid with steel sequins and serpentine guards.
